What is a Serial Number?

The serial number is an individual number that Control Microsystems has assigned to your ClearSCADA license.  The serial number is located on the back of the DVD case that contained your ClearSCADA installation CD.

If your ClearSCADA license is on a USB dongle, there will be an additional sticker on the dongle with the serial number.

If your ClearSCADA license is a Softkey, the serial number can also be found in the license file in the License Details window which is displayed by right-clicking on the ClearSCADA Server Icon in the Windows system tray. The license file will be at the end of the license field and will have a file extension of .lic.

A sample serial number is "D100999"

What is a Locking Code?

A locking code is a special number that encodes the details of the dongle.  It is a string of 20 characters.
