What is controller firmware?

Controller firmware is special computer code that acts as the controller’s operating system. It provides the functioning environment for any logic code that is to execute in the controller. SCADAPack controllers support two types of firmware, each with its own unique programming environment.

As new features and functionality are added to the firmware, new versions of firmware are released. In order to ensure that these new features are available, it is important to utilize the firmware version that corresponds with the release version of the TelePACE Studio, ISaGRAF or RealFLO application being used.

To determine the firmware type and version number, follow the steps in FAQ #4. The firmware type and version number are displayed on the same dialogs as the number of supported flow runs.
