How is TelePACE Studio configured for communication?
In order for TelePACE Studio to communicate with the controller, it must be configured to use one of the PC’s communication ports, either a serial, Ethernet or USB com port. The controller-specific address must also be configured to allow TelePACE Studio to communicate with a specific controller on a multiple-controller network.
TelePACE Studio is configured for communication on the Configure PC Communications dialog.
To configure TelePACE Studio for direct serial communication (for example):
- On the Program tab, PC Communication heading, select the small arrow to the right of the protocol list and choose Modbus RTU.
- On the Program tab, PC Communication heading, select the Configure icon.

- On the General tab, enter Serial Port Settings appropriate for your particular PC, including the com port out of which TelePACE Studio will communicate with the SCADAPack.
- If the controller’s comport settings are unknown, perform a Service-boot (logic is not erased) or Cold-boot procedure (logic is erased) to restore default settings to the controller. Then select the Restore Defaults button and choose the appropriate PC comport.
