How do you cold-boot a SCADAPack controller?

COLD BOOT mode is used after installing new controller firmware or when the controller lock password has been forgotten. When the SCADAPack controller starts in COLD BOOT mode:

  • The default serial communication parameters are used.
  • The ladder logic program is erased.
  • The C program is erased.
  • The registers in the I/O database are initialized to default values.
  • The register assignment is erased.
  • The controller is unlocked.

COLD BOOT mode is selected by performing a COLD BOOT using the following procedure:

  • Remove power from the SCADAPack controller.Hold down the LED POWER button.
  • Apply power to the SCADAPack controller.
  • Continue holding the LED POWER button for 25 seconds until the STAT LED begins to flash on and off continuously.
  • Release the LED POWER button.

Note: If the LED POWER button is released before the STAT LED flashes, the controller will start in either the SERVICE or RUN modes.
